There and Back Again

As I mentioned in previous posts, I’ve spent the past two week on the road with my hubby and pup, driving cross-country and back through most of the US! During this time my art and Etsy shop have been on hold. We’re still settling in to our new home, but I’ll be ramping everything back up within the week. Here are some photos I shot of our amazing trip, from Wyoming to Colorado to Utah to Oregon to Arizona and New Mexico!

Fall in Prospect Park

It’s peakĀ foliage season here in NYC, and I spent this weekend wandering through drifts of leaves in Prospect Park with my camera!

New York

In March, my boyfriend Kenan and I took our first trip to New York City, and, I hope, the first of our many travel adventures together! I had so much fun exploring the city and snapping pictures – in Central Park, on the Ellis Island ferry, in Manhattan, and Brooklyn, and at the Native American Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Here’s a few of my favorite shots from our trip!

Our next trip will be to the Blue Ridge Mountains for my birthday – more photos coming soon!

Cherry Blossoms

Spring is finally creeping in here in North Carolina, and the cherry tree in my backyard has burst into bloom! A few days ago I was able to take advantage of the newly warm weather and sunshine and spend some time outside snapping pictures of the beautiful blossoms.

My Secret Garden

Lately, I’ve been trying to use my new camera for more than just taking pictures of my art to list on Etsy. It’s been warmer this week, and so I was able to get outside, and try shooting a few pictures of the vine-covered gate in my backyard. I took the antique key from one of my terrariums with me, and ended up with a few good shots that remind me of The Secret Garden!

State Fair Photos

Last weekend was the final weekend of North Carolina’s State Fair. I both love (the sweet crunch of candy apples) and hate (the crowds) the fair. This year I brought along my new camera to snap a few photos. Here’s my favorites!

My Secret Garden

Several weeks ago I bought the sweetest miniature ceramic birdbath and tiny flower pots to use in pictures with my art dolls. I filled the flower pots with moss and roses almost as soon as I got home, but it was a long time before I had time to go outside and actually snap some pictures. Yesterday the weather was gorgeous and warm, I was out of school, and so I finally headed outside to play with my camera.

Here’s some of my favorite pictures from the secret garden scene I set up with my Mary and Dickon art dolls. I had some trouble with glare, so I might have to head out again on a cloudier day!
